SCYR uses the Bonus Point Scoring System

This means:
  • 4 points for a win
  • 2 points for a draw
  • 0 points for a loss
  • -1 point to a forfeiting team
  • 5 points to the team forfeited against
Bonus points may also be earned in any given match.
A team may earn one bonus point in each of the following ways (to a total of two points):
  • By scoring four or more tries in the match, regardless of the final result of the match
  • By losing by seven points (a converted try) or fewer
Therefore the winning team can collect either 4 or 5 points, depending on whether or not it scored 4 tries. The losing team may collect from 0 to 2 points.

Tie Breaker

In Accordance with the Sportmanship Policy adopted on Sep 18 2011, the criteria for tie breakers using points differential shall be capped at 40. To discourage teams from running up points on their opponents to get an advantage in any tie breaker, points for and against are also the least important of the tie breaking factors.
If teams are tied on points at the end of the competition, ties will be broken in the following order:
  1. head to head result
  2. Most wins
  3. least losses
  4. most bonus points
  5. most tries scored
  6. points difference
